Anybody ever use OVH for VPS?
-
I do. I am quite happy with them.
Super cheap, no downtime in the 3 months I have been using them.
-
It seems like a much better deal than DO. I am going to run my personal, and non profit website off of there and see how it goes.

Be careful with OVH. They are known to host massive numbers of spammers and are unwilling or unable to do anything about it. You might end up in bad neighborhood.

So it's pretty easy to get blacklisted with them?

That only affects email right?

I don't know. But judging by lack of action against spammers, there might be other bad apples there. People running ransomware for example.
Google is known for penalizing websites in bad neighborhoods.

Are you talking about Shared Hosting or a VPS? With a VPS you get your own IP address, so you don't have any neighbors.

It's trivial to check where you host your vps. It's not about neighbors on the same ip address, but in the same servers/datacenter/company. One day small army may storm the building and seize the equipment. Or simply bunch of suits from 3 letter gov agency shows up with a warrant.
