I know SpiceWorks is meant to be for Pro's but is that where MangoLassi sits? or are you happy to help someone just starting in IT?
Just sending a message to a friend that just starting in the IT support field and was going to send a link here for him too. -
SW is for anyone in IT. That includes students. SW is actually overly lenient on that with people that the entire community has decided doesn't qualify even at high school student level but is allowed to stay. Their guideline is "anyone receiving money for working on computers", even if there is no "IT" aspect of their job (Slade01 and Curtis3363 for example - neither of which qualify as IT pro by any standard.) ML has looser guidelines but does expect that people intend to work in IT. Meaning... if someone comes here and asks questions, the assumption is that it is a business context which is what defines IT. There is no "level" of experience or knowledge expected, but their goal should be IT, not "playing with gadgets." If that makes sense.

He was warehouse manager/supervisor but now working as IT support for a local firm, so was going to send a message just offering support from me if he needed, bit thought i would give a link here and SW so he can get advice if needed and learn like i have
