      In December Microsoft made a pledge to open source ChakraCore, the JavaScript engine that powers the application functionality of their new Edge web browser. Today Microsoft made good on that promise giving ChakraCore to the community via license. Additionally, Microsoft has committed to porting ChakraCore to Ubuntu Linux. The new post-Ballmer Microsoft is embracing open source in a major way.

        I wonder how it stacks up to V8. And will Node be ported to it?
