Webroot site: Slow to respond

  • I am trying my third browser to work with Webroot..

It seems so slow -at least to me. Has anyone else experienced this today?

  • I had to close my browser and reopen to get their login page to work this a.m. Working now on Opera.

The Webroot console is generally slow for me and has been for months. I just put it down as one of those things.

    Yea,.. meant to do that.
    Thank you.

Are you referring to the console as well? I know we've had some issues with growth and having to add more servers, so let me check and see if we've hit another big growth spurt and whether we need to ramp up more.

When I log it sometimes it'll just drop to a blank screen... I even tried different browsers...

The public facing sites have generally been quick.

Just the consoles that are really slow.

  • I just tried the console on my machine and it is slower than usual. In fact it timed out after I logged in and I had to login again. Let me investigate further and see what's up.

Thanks, the console has been like that since at least September sadly.

Yeah it's been slow, but not as bad as it is today. I can't even get logged in right now.

  • @Nic O.o You can't even get into your own products? Oh, for shame! 😛

    I know right? 🙂

I'm chatting with the guy who supports the online console right now. He said there was a memory leak issue earlier that they'd been doing some work on and that seems to have fixed it for some people. I let him know I was still having trouble and he's investigating further.

  • Thank you @Nic it's driving me nuts!

I've had Rackspace have the same issue and instead of investigating they were just going to ignore the issue until there was an outage!!

    Ooops!

We appear to have a problem - we will hopefully resolve this soon.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but promise the site will be back up very soon and running better than ever!

    Thank you for your patience.

Yep I'm getting that now as well. Guess they're having to taking things offline temporarily while they get it fixed. I'll let you guys know when I hear more.

  • Ok looks like it's been sorted out finally. I'm able to get in and navigate around my console ok.

If anyone is still not able to get logged in or has any timeouts please let me know. Thanks for being patient while we got this fixed (or at least pretending to be patient 🙂 ).

While you pretend to get it fixed? 😛 (I don't feel bad for picking at you... I am a Webroot customer -- even if only of the home version, lol).

Well I didn't do anything except bug the folks who manage the servers 🙂

We still don't have a complete root cause but at least things are working (albeit slowly) in the meantime.

It's nice to have vendors in here that like to play back. 🙂

I hope I am eventually in a position to recommend Webroot products again soon!

Hey if we can't have fun then what's the point? 🙂

and yeah I understand that sometimes the choice of AV isn't always under one's control, or there are other factors that constrain your choice, no worries!

  • To add to the fun today our Webroot community went down for about 10 minutes. Never a dull day.

  • My console started working like 5 minutes after I posted here this a.m. Guess b*tchin' about it worked!

  • @RojoLoco bitching is always a good option 🙂

  • @Nic -- Unfortunately, bitching doesn't seem to work when reporting false positives to the Webroot support team. 😦

Let me know if you can't get satisfaction. The support and threat teams both sit on the floor below me so I can combine bitching with the dope slap if need be 🙂

Ok I see the ticket. I'll investigate and see what I can find out.

  • Ok looks like we got @Danp sorted out. Just let me know if you need any help with anything else.
