FOSS Force's Christine Hall looks at the major Linux desktop calendar applications to see what she feels will work best for her needs. What calendar do you use on Linux and why?

I'm attempting to try out KOrganizer on Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa but so far, it does not seem to play nicely.

I tried evolution, but I keep going back to the zoho web calendar.

The reason I wanted to use evolution is because the notification center in gnome 3 will show the calendar events. My wife and I use a shared outlook.com calendar for family stuff and I was going to set that up, but the online accounts in gnome kept having errors with the account so I just gave up.

I've been using calendar.google.com since I accepted that at least one company will know more about me than I do myself. I've got other apps pulling the schedule in as well.
