Just curious, why this guide uses Ubuntu & not Debian like the XOA appliance?

Yeah using Scotts online installer on Ubuntu works fine, I rebuilt my VM last week using it

This works on debian as well.

Script is broken on Ubuntu 16.10 due to missing package (libpng12-dev).
FWIW, the original instructions call for libpng-dev.
