I actually bought DVDFab as well. It just works! Sadly, I'm still working through my DVD library, lol.

I seem to remember it just working also... sadly it didn't.

However, I'm trying again after a fresh boot.... see if that helps any.

I still need to get a good storage medium designed for this purpose.

I use my old ReadyNAS for that. Just two bays but with big drives it holds a LOT.

Successful creation of an ISO - finally.. took four attempts to complete. Part of the issue was the power setting. Helps to not let it go to sleep.

I still use that for the compression. But DVDFab for the ripping to get the files for Handbrake to use.

Handbrake is great for converting video formats and such. It won't rip DVDs without something like DVD Shrink or DVDDecrypt.

DVDFab support should help you out if you have problems getting a DVD to rip.

It used to but I guess the DVDs I have aren't encrypted they are just MP2 VOB files. I haven't bought a dvd since about 2008 though.

That was the other one I have used,.. just could not remember what it was.

I haven't had the need to compress a DVD in so long that I've misplaced and forgotten the tools. My only other 'task' is to shrink down for use on a tablet.. but I'm on that road....
