Did the device change?
I don't recall the original pictures indicating the need for power through Micro USB.
This current model appears to require an ethernet cable between the switch and the device, the old one from memory had a built in RJ45 to plug directly into the switch. Of course, I can see where that might be undesirable, I am just checking to see how crazy I am today.

Yeah, and a Raspberry pi can run this and a lot cheaper too. and can do other stuff.. This is obsolete when they start changing their platform much.

No. It comes with a short 3" Cable. You only need the Mirco USB connector if you don't have PoE. The power cable in not included

I have a UBNT AP,.. and I need to rebuild my controller...
I've wondered if you could build the controller on a Raspberry Pi...

Plus the Raspberry Pi has other costs associated with it (Power Cord, Micro SD Card, Case, Cables, etc)

It's a bit more expensive (I just paid $85 shipped), but it's once and done.

Most people will have the extra's laying around. And you don't have to have a case for it.
