      Hey everyone,

I have an issue with Windows 10 where, when it's on battery, when the screen is predominantly white, like on Facebook or MangoLassi, the brightness goes up. When the screen is predominantly dark, like on 2048Alphabet.com, it goes very dim and dark. It only does this when on battery.

I have checked in the power options and adaptive display is disabled for both plugged in and battery. However, it continues to do this and is really annoying...

I've checked other places too, like the ATI settings and didn't see anything there but maybe I'm missing something. It didn't do this on Windows 8.1 Pro but does on Windows 10 Pro. Any suggestions?

      Thanks,
      A.J.

Ok, now it's doing it on battery AND while plugged in...this is very frustrating!

Now that is very odd indeed.

I rebooted and the issue went away while plugged in but it's still consistent while on battery...

Are you on an upgrade or clean install?

                  Upgrade.

All of my upgrades have had one problem or another. I suggest that you do a fresh install and see if the problem continues.

Does the computer have an Intel GFX as well as the ATI? If so you need to disable Display power saving technology in the Intel control panel.

Not as far as I know...at least not Intel HD graphics...

Fixed it. The issue was "Vari-Bright" in the AMD Catalyst Control Panel was enabled. Disabled that and boom. Problem solved!
