I love light from behind my monitor lighting up the wall behind it.
that would be weird in an office.

Not if the monitor is against a wall. If it is against a window, yeah. It provides the softest light with the least on the screen itself. Makes total sense in a darker office.

DST is just silly. And who even knows when it happens anymore? Is it this coming weekend? That the "special" shifted time is most of the year makes no sense. That means that really the US now has "winter time" when we make the time.... especially impractical?

This is how my office looks now..
yep it's a mess. -

yep it's a mess. That looks good. If it were me I would just have the single light behind your monitors on.

That's the one that is within eye site more than the one directly to the right.
Also, to do that, my only option would be to remote the bulb, they are on the same switch. No power switch on the light itself.
I'm also guessing it would be to dark to write notes, etc if I killed that light.

As mentioned earlier, farmers and outdoor activities follow actual sun light not time so DST doesn't make a difference for them.
DST causes health issues and it's proven to create alot of stress. I can also tell you that it wreaks havoc on infants and toddlers that don't have a concept of time. They are used to just working on sunlight so getting them up an hour earlier or later really effects them in a negative way.
That just goes to show that it isn't natural.
-
And it is an embarrassment to countries and cultures that do it. Let me tell you, in the third world they laugh about how backwards those doing DST are and how silly they are for changing their clocks and getting confused instead of just "doing things at the right time."

I think this year I handled the time change better than others... i just had alot of Jameson the night before, then didn't care about doing anything the next day

I moved to a place that doesn't have it. I win.
