To make an ISO file from the ISO disc that you have, just do this command on Linux...

      dd if=/dev/cdrom of=/path/to/cdcopy.iso

@scottalanmiller I tried to read the disk in my Desktop of my friend which is working properly. But the Desktop is 32 Bit Architecture so it cant able to install the OS in VMware Workstation.Since My OS is 64 Bit OS

Ah ha, this is making more sense. So you have access to a working drive but need to convert the ISO disc to an ISO file so that you can move it to your own machine. 🙂

Calling it ISO format was adding to the confusion as that is what a DVD is. The term ISO format refers to the filesystem on the DVD itself.

@Lakshmana Why are you trying to run the VMWare installer on your friends system?

Are you simply trying to test the OS?

I believe he is just working on a few different OSes so that he can learn more about them and build his resume.

@Lakshmana If the CD is bootable can you simple Boot into the LiveCD environment, and learn from there?

You did not read what I wrote. ISO format and Bootable CD are the same thing. ISO 9660 is the technical name for a bootable CD or DVD. Every bootable CD you have is ISO format, that is what allows the computer to read it.

I provided the command to turn your ISO format CD into an ISO file above.

Because he does not have a working CD or DVD drive on his own system.

Do you have a home or office network?

                                  Or even a USB drive?

If so I'd recommend copying the Bootable Disc to your desktop and then writing it to a USB drive.

Doesn't matter what YOUR desktop is as you will be doing the transfer on your friend's system.

Rufus is a rather small download at 843 Kb.

Copy the ISO from the Disc, and write it to a USB drive using rufus.

This entire thread is about him trying to figure out how to copy it to his desktop.
