I play WoW. I picked it up again when the Wife started playing with some of her other friends. Thing is, as much as I love games like WoW, I still prefer to find other things to do too. If I have nothing better happening, then I'll play WoW (or any game, really), but if the mood fancies me to read for a while, then that's what I do...
WoW is not my life. Come on everybody. With feeling! "WoW is not my life!"
I can't hear you! (/me checks batteries).

It's different if you are pushing content and trying to be competitive. I was in Vodka for years and we were doing world first content

Yeah, I'm not in a hurry for content or anything like that. It is how I stayed in touch with friends and all that jazz.

I never got involved with WoW. When it was young, I tried it for their free week and I found it to be a solitary existence in a world full of players.
EverQuest, however, was my thing for about 9 years. I met some RL friends through there which I continue to be friends with even though we don't play EQ any more. We do play Ark, Minecraft and AD&D, though.
I appreciate that Minecraft and Ark help me to maintain my Linux skills, too. Running those two services on an Ubuntu platform helps me keep on top of skills that might otherwise wither and die since my day-to-day is all windows and GPO this, AD that.

My friend's bringing over his girlfriend tomorrow to play board games. The only board games I have right now are Boss Monster, Netrunner and Pixel Glory. I think I might need to go to a local comic store or something and get lucky.

The way you explain that sounds weird

Pick up Mysterium if you want a different experience then the ones you've listed. Fairly quick games we've played it 4 or 5 times and every time is slightly different but very rewarding.

Thanks for the tip. I'll add it to the list. I want to see if I can find Ground Floor locally as well. Great game.

We also really enjoy Codenames and Spyfall as party games.

In my experience (not being sexist, just observational) many women enjoy coop games more than direct competition oriented ones. Pandemic is probably the top of that stack, but there are a lot of options out there.

Haha, I've found that women are more likely to try different games then men. But I think I'm a bit biased because I prefer coop games.

I've been picking up Warframe again lately. They've added some cool challenges to the game that make it entertaining.

Different as in non coop, or just wanting variety?

It's enough of a difference that whole vendor brands base their marketing around the differences.

I am talking about coop boardgames, just to be clear. Not CoD coop.

OH, like D&D.

That sucks because I am way more inclined to compete

Wanting variety. Non-coop and coop alike. I prefer coop games so those are the ones I generally recommend.

Not Pen and Paper, board games in general. Haven't really convinced any players to try RPGs unless they've done them before... male or female.
