There were several news sources reporting this weekend that documents have been leaked that indicate that AT&T (and Verizon and others) have voluntarily worked with the NSA to connect private information for years.

I really need to move away from AT&T now, based on my principals if nothing else.

I wonder if T-Mobile works worth a darn here? UG!

LOL - yeah, I never trust those maps. Sprint says they have 100% signal in all of my town, yet I can't make a call at my house, etc.

Testing is the only thing I really trust. Granted Sprint did work OK in the rest of the city, though 4G LTE is still spotty as hell.

Even more LOL - their map shows that my block is listed as no coverage, but the block in front of and behind me have LTE saturation. I just choose the wrong place to live ...

Oh, I was just thinking it could give you a baseline... I live in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains... getting reliable service around here is near impossible. Getting a few bars is reminiscent of the old TV antennas... it all depends on how you are standing.

T-Mobile has a test drive promotion. Never looked into it more than seeing it on their website.

The only part of this that is "news" is the amount of willing help given, not that help was given.

Every single carrier will have done this to some degree or they would not be in business right now.

I'm not sure if they wouldn't be in business, but I agree, they all have participated. Also agree the only new part is the willingness.
