Need an Extremely Small and Portable Gaming System

Yeah, the tiny is what is making me so interested. I can't overstake how important weight and space savings is.

Considering that an HP EliteDesk cost about $800, yet includes a 500 GB HDD, 4 GB RAM and Windows Pro, that $200 but be the profit difference.

Those seem abnormally expensive. Almost $1,300 and only a cheap 7,200 RPM drive and 8GB of RAM?

oh no.. no no.. of course it's not all profit, definitely didn't mean to imply that. considering they both cost the same, but the main difference is one has a 'good or great' video card, and the other has RAM/HDD/OS License, and they both have the same processor - I was just meaning that those three items must cost around the same $200 as the good video card this box includes.. the rest would all be equal.

Once you pass the $800 mark for a small gaming rig with no screen... Why not spend the extra couple or three hundred dollars to actually get a decent gaming laptop?
I've seen 2 ads today fro the ASUS ROG Gaming laptops (I have no experience with that model laptop, but I generally like the ASUS stuff)

The ROGs ( at least my 17" 2015 model ) are absolutely sick and amazing in most respects. But the keyboard and trackpad are pretty terrible.
If the majority of your use will be gaming, it's probably a great fit, but if you want to type type type you may end up taking your own life.
I don't know how hardcore of a GPU you need, but if a GTX 950 ( 4GB ded ) works, HP has some epic 17" machines that are <$1,000 w/ Win 10 and that come w/ that that have amazing touchpads and keyboards, in the process of trading my ROG in for one, because typing is important to me.

Because that is actually far less useful. Laptops are less portable than little desktops like this. Far less. They are less robust, larger and heavier. All very bad things for the serious traveler. Considering that the goal is to have this attach to a big screen and be used only for games, getting a gaming laptop would cost more and deliver less. It a gaming laptop on par was $300 cheaper, sure, I'd save the money and suck up the form factor. But as that is a lot of money for it to be "more", that's not going to fly when the whole point is to have something as tiny and rugged as possible to go into the luggage.

That is pretty sexy. A bit sexier than the Envy 17 that I have now.
