Disclaimer: Kodi is not for doing anything illegal, and I certainly wouldn't ever use it for any illegal purposes. But I do watch whatever I want.

Kodi clearly has a bad rap like Napster did. Napster could be used for legal things, definitely, the reality is that it rarely was use for legal means.

Before I setup a Plex server at home, I used Kodi to connect to a shared folder on my Windows desktop that contained all of my digitized DVD collection.

Just about everything illegally done electronically is done on Windows and Linux... should we all stop using those too?

Yeah, but Napster sucked in general, lol. Kodi is actually useful for legal things and most people I know only know of it in legal contexts.

Those systems were used for legal things long before the illegal things - so they've become known in a positive light. Napster and Kodi became known to the public mainly because of their illegal usability...

After I heard about Kodi - using it on a firestick was the only association I have here. Out of the box, a firestick doesn't make doing illegal things easy.

You're right, but there is a known YouTube video that shows you how to jailbreak it to do illegal things. Its gotten so bad that Amazon is not even trying to hide it.

You do not have to jailbreak. You simply install the applications.

Really - you've heard the general public learn/hear that Windows and Linux are used for illegal things before those same general public learned that it was usable for legal things?
