Lots of companies at VeeamOn this week were discussing how weird it is that IBM even still exists. No one knows what they do any more and a large number of newbies in the field literally don't know who they are at this point.

That's crazy to me. I don't know if it's the area I grew up in or what but I was aware of what IBM is/was when I was younger.

Yeah. Because they were still active when you were younger. We all knew them when we were young. But now to most people they are the company that "used to make computers". Even IT people rarely know what they make today.

I've been reading about the process for the past few weeks. It's interesting what had to be done to get this down.

Against illegal drugs. Caffeine is not a monitored and controlled substance. So yes, the child could have easily been anti-drug "just say no" etc and still been addicted to a legal substance (caffeine).

Have you forgotten the entire history of the FDA? I'll try to be good and leave it at that.

@travisdh1 What does the history of an agency have to do with the products consumed and sold as food.

Caffeinated drinks are not a controlled or monitored substance. The kid obviously had an issue, consumed to many and died from a bad ticker.

That's not against drugs. That's against not breaking the law. Which is totally fine, but a very different thing.

                                You're splitting hairs here.

A person can morally be against the use of drugs, or they can want to "not break the law". But your assumption here is that if drugs weren't illegal they'd be used (and that is a bad assumption).

I'm not saying anything against him. I consume more caffeine than that. But the quote was BS. You can't say that I'm anti drugs given my coffee consumption.

Eating catfish is a form of a drug, because everything is just a chemical bag in a specific form. Just because one chemical in that chemical bag can be dangerous doesn't mean you are pro drug use.

@travisdh1 What does the history of an agency have to do with the products consumed and sold as food.

Caffeinated drinks are not a controlled or monitored substance. The kid obviously had an issue, consumed to many and died from a bad ticker.

If he had used that illegal, evil, devil weed he'd still be alive. Legal, unregulated drugs kill. Caffeine is waaaaaaaaaaay more dangerous than THC. So are Tylenol, Viagra, and most other over the counter "drugs". This country's laws are so fucked it's not even funny.
