Case of Bubonic Plague Identified in California Child
California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Director and State Health Officer Dr. Karen Smith today announced the department is investigating a case of human plague in California, and conducting an environmental evaluation in the Stanislaus National Forest, Yosemite National Park and the surrounding areas.
The department began investigating this incident after a child from Los Angeles County became ill and was hospitalized after visiting the Stanislaus National Forest and camping at Crane Flat Campground in Yosemite National Park in mid-July. No other members of the camping party reported symptoms and health officials are continuing to monitor the child’s family and treatment providers. The child is recovering.

Crazy "One Percenter" Melissa Gilbert who can afford a hair stylist for her dog but can't afford to pay her taxes is running for Congress:
Laura Ingalls Wilder actress: "I'm running for Congress to make life a little easier for all the families who feel they have fallen through the cracks in today's economy."
You know what would make life easier for those people Melissa? If the ultra-rich would pay their taxes so that the poor could have necessary services.
-
@mlnews What else would help would be if all these ultra rich folks that have more money than 10 generations of their family can spend quit paying hair stylists for their dogs, and get out and do some good in the community.

Pet salons are part of the economy you know.

Wouldn't be a problem if she was paying her taxes.

Sad but true. Unfortunately they seem to cater to the rich and famous... rather than the poor and broke, lol.
Pets do not need a paid hair stylist... Their owners should do that... I would say like they would do their own kids...but... well we all know that Pets are really just furry kids, lol.

Having hair stylists for pets is fine, IMHO. No different than having it for people. Not for me, I take a razor and cut my own hair. When I was little my dad cut my hair. I've been to a barber maybe three times in my life. But like any luxury item hair styling for men, women or pets is fine. As long as the person in question isn't a tax evader.
