How do I get the free VMWare license now?
-
Really annoying, I cannot find where to get the key for the free server?
Did they change the process? It used to be you registered the product and had a the "Free" key that you could apply immediately to stop getting the pop ups about being a trial.Am I forgetting a step (Probably)? I just registered for 5.5U2 on my existing personal account that only had 4.X on it previously.

login then go to https://my.vmware.com/group/vmware/evalcenter?lp=default&p=free-esxi5 or https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/evalcenter?p=free-esxi5&lp=default&rct=j&q=vmware esxi free&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CDMQFjAB&url=http://www.vmware.com/go/get-free-esxi&ei=gs4AVcfMFtSSsQTZ2YJI&usg=AFQjCNELF7MNwSUlf1kuW2AkBZLd2vLCCA&sig2=eC4OkOTQEoLlELO6Hd9LiA
The key is show above the downloads in the License Information Section.

It's So horrible to find. This is why I say I can often install XenServer before I can find the VMware license.

I've been finding this a lot with a few different websites.
Microsoft is another good one for changing things. Was looking for Hyper-V Server 2012 and all i kept getting was Server 2012 trial. found it in the end, saved the ISO on a USB to keep forever lol.

@JaredBusch
Yeah, when you name your server OS's with the same words - but in a different order, it makes searching quite difficult. SEO nightmare.
