Is Cloud the Next Data Prison?

It's time to consider if your hosted systems are going to lock you in and keep your data in prison.
Well locking you in with subscriptions is exactly what Adobe did. So far they are the only one I know of that both uses proprietary formats AND is subscription only. There's goes a step further and makes it so even if the data was local and not stored on their cloud you can't use it without continuing to pay.

They've always been a pioneer of "data prison".
Data prisoning is a big deal. You need companies with clear paths to data migration. Something very important to ask when getting into a situation where a vendor holds your critical data.
