Useful. Wish mine support more memory. But biggest thing I need to do is replace the original HDD with an SSD.

We just put an SSD into an almost dead MacBook Pro from 2011 - it is a NEW machine and is totally useful again. We bumped the memory to max, put the SSD in, and replaced the battery. Incredible, the value that an SSD can add.

The only reason I do not have an SSD in my MBP now is because I have a few VM sessions setup in Parallels and I did not want to give up the space to go to a small SSD. With prices today, I am going to swap to SSD as soon as I find a 512GB for a decent price.

My MBP is still pretty new so haven't changed anything out. I think I will be adding additional memory though very soon. But when it is time to update the hard drive I will be going SSD.
