that's why I've started posting the information of importance here on ML instead of just a link to the site.

That's what I do.
That's one reason i've always thought of doing a blog type site listing things i've done and how.
The main concern with having a blog - microblog, is you getting board/tired of it. That and it's yours. of course ML could go under tomorrow and the effort I've put in here would be lost, but that's much less likely with a site like than than a personal blog.
Of course finding anything here is only marginally easier than another major IT community site...
That's arguable - even if you have to restort to Google searching ML, it's all open and searchable. Hopefully over time ML will gain in popularity and will get more searches, more new members and more content.
A blog, unless you manage to become famous will always be very limited in size.
It isn't the "searchability" necessarily, but the findability. I've tried to dig through the detritus looking for specific posts/articles, and finding them is very time consuming. Perhaps I need to use the Advanced Search more.
this is my advanced search for ML, go to google and search "site:mangolassi.it etc."
Search is notoriously hard to do well. Just using our Google overlords is so much better.
What i'd like to see done, is a way to "article-ize" posts. For example there is a ton of good information on Linux systems administration here, and the work done with XO and XS is some of the best/clearest I've found so far. But refinding it sucks. If we could have an area of ML where community voted on posts/threads are converted into articles that would be awesome. Maybe I should start a new thread...
I love the idea, but am not sure how to physically do it. Kind of like making "MangoLassi: The Magazine" based on the best of the community (and those things that make sense as articles, there is some good stuff that is in no way an article.)

Some things would have to be summarized/edited, particularly some of the back and forth threads building scripts.

In many cases, it just requires the OP cleaning up the post with the updated info. The thread itself could stay.

An example of something that I don't think works in thread format is the Linux education series you're making.
Sure each lesson is great to be able to ask questions about.. but something closer to a book format would definitely making following it much easier.
I suppose you could have a pinned title thread that links to each chapter thread, but that's still not as clean.

Excellent example. I've wanted to refer back to those, and tags only get you so far with searching.

Hmmm, I just clicked on the tags link on the top bar and went to SAM Linux System Administration and it got me there. This is adaptable I suppose, but it doesn't help improve findability for new people coming in.

Well... one could always try turning it off and on again... or how about trying to reconfigure the primary power coupling?

Haven't set one up but I've watched a demo, seems like that shouldn't be too bad.

Yeah it's seems simple enough to get the extensions/phones setup. The bit I'm worried about is connecting it to the ISDN channels for the calls. So might ask an expert to help

Shouldn't be that hard - how are they delivered? Mine are delivered via CAT 5e with RJ45's on them. Plug in just like normal ethernet. The put in the settings provided by the teleco provider and you should be good to go.

No, the search currently built into the NodeBB platform sucks ass. Period. End of story. No qualifiers. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Not sure that we can answer that one on your behalf.

How much do you want to do it, versus paying them to do it?
Also why not just build a new DC out of 2012 and migrate the rolls?
