The city is watching you.
Heh ... number 1 complaint from those that manage, use, and develop for facial recognition as of late: Masks are F*cking things up for us!
Well the Soofa units just monitor your device passing by it. But still. That one is in the park by my house.

That's just creepy.
Time for a Faraday Cage carrier for the device or turning it off.

The bigger play for Soofa, however, is the data collected from the bench and sign. Beyond being able to track how many people use the bench to charge mobile devices, both the bench and the sign have the ability to measure how much cell phone noise is in proximity, which the company uses to indicate the level of activity in the area.

Maybe I'm just old and curmudgeonly, but this has 1984 written all over it.
Data Aggregators. Know what those are? I didn't until one got compromised recently.
I don't subscribe, and never will, to intrusions on our digital privacy.
I believe our digital lives should be treated with the same respect as our physical ones.
The problem is, we've become so inured to the intrusions and outright usage of our digital personages without our knowledge (impolite words to be had on this one), or even with our knowledge but who gives a care?, that it's like being at the bottom of a steep sand hill.
