Sounds like United is going to screw themselves. First in a lawsuit that they cannot win. Then second by providing all of the advertising, for free, for this new site. When this is done, he will have won a lawsuit, have indemnity protection and have tons of traffic. So when he goes to monetize it, he will be in great shape.

I fly American and JetBlue when possible in the US. AerLingus and BA have been great for TransAtlantic flights. Delta has been good for me, I've seen lots of negative feedback on them from others.

I must say that this does not make me want to fly on United if I can help it!
