OneNote - how does a very large OneNote file work on a mobile device?

My associate tells me has a 4+ gig OneNote file. If you're using OneNote with Sharepoint and trying to access that on your mobile device, does the whole file have to download before you can do anything with it?

Yeah, you have to sync the WHOLE notebook. No picking and choosing like boogers in your nose.
