Excel 2010 Macros Disappearing But Showing In Use If You Try To Re-Open Them

I have a single Excel 2010 users who uses a lot of personal Macro's. Once in a while she will say her macros will disappear and if she exits Excel (which she hates to do because she has "no time for problems") they come back. But here lately, she will do it, they will still go gone. If she goes to the Macro location under App Data and tries to open it there, it will say it is in use and will give her the option to open READ ONLY or to NOTIFY. In this situation, we close Excel Again and re-open and Macros are back.
She is the only one who uses personal Macros...and she never has time for me to troubleshoot...locks her office at night and weekends and if I remote into her PC, it rearranges her ICON's to where she doesn't like to have to move again...it is always tough to fix her issues...:(
Any clue as to why this is happening?

Sounds like she knows that the problem is her and just wants to complain and not have you figure out that it is her.

Well, I can see her Marcos are empty...and the workaround (mostly) to close all Excel instances and start again and it works...I'd try the Macro's on my PC but she considers them "HR confidential" and won't let me troubleshoot them...

Ding ding. Why would a macro be confidential? And why would one in HR be confidential? And why would anything be confidential from IT? Three red flags in one. She is just complaining.

And she's allowed to define her job as to block you from doing yours? There is an impedance mismatch here.

Thursdays, IF she takes a lunch, I can usually tinker with her PC...aiming for that day but I have no idea how to reproduce this error...it also generates no logs...

Being that they are custom macro's, Is it possible that they are just poorly written, get stuck in an infinite loop and crash?
Can you "borrow" (without asking) them by going to \ \her-pc\users\herID\appdata
Then, with the user present, you "troubleshoot" for minutes then EUREKA!(edit: ML doesn't like double \ 's)
