      Seriously. Why?

      warning: rant ahead.

Is it the culture? Is it that people have grown too comfortable in their positions that they forget the importance of what they sell / provided? Do they not have pride in their work? I just don't see how a hardware or software vendor can just float along for a long time and not give a crap about the quality of their product?

      /rant.

On that note, I see this in many products. Missing documentation, poor graphics, faulting functionality, poor design etc etc. Even the smallest of details should be important, but they aren't treated that way. I can't help but wonder if there are just a huge number of apathetic companies out there where quality is no longer a serious issue. All the while the people in charge of the quality control get to retain their positions. How can one do a terrible job and yet keep their job?

@Bill-Kindle Yeah it is one of my favorite articles explaining how corporations work, and why you get incompetent middle management.

@Bill-Kindle Maybe because most of the people on the top are already contented on what they have so they don't work hard anymore. They don't care about the result, at least they are doing their job. I know someone like that, he always says it's fine but he don't consider the feedback or the outcome of his work because he thinks that what he has right now is what he should have. He don't aim for better output and I hate that attitude.

              Just saying ๐Ÿ˜„

Have you read "The Dilbert Principle"? It actually is the theory behind why this is done.

@scottalanmiller Yes I have, and it's disheartening. I suffered a little of this situation this morning, after being a little excited to participate and help make something better, that it wasn't going anywhere because of an incompetent product manager.

very frustrating, very saddening. That's the feeling that makes you feel stuck and useless.

@Nic @bill-kindle Psychotic CEOs was a popular topic a few years back.

Google around, and a few links to startโ€”

And this is why we love DILBERT so much! Pretty funny, but a lot of truth wrapped up in those warped comics.
