Reputation to post ratio
-
I was curious what you guys thought a good reputation to post ratio would be. Currently I'm at a 1 to 5 reputation to post ratio. is that good?
-
Ratios are really, really bad. Extremely bad. They are nothing but misleading. They are even more misleading that the raw numbers which are misleading on their own.
-
Somehow my reputation went from 360 or whatever to -1...bug me thinks.

You don't like the reputation system? I kind of like it, makes people know you know whats up, or at least are funny enough.

Still trying to figure out how I lost hundreds in reputation...

No, it tells them nothing. At best it is a semi-reflection of how much you post, nothing more. But it is more a reflection of how much people like what you say, not that it is good.

Yeah, and it was only me...

Nope, sometime in the past 90 minutes. Not sure when or why. No rhyme or reason I can see.
-
@thanksaj That's just Karma telling you that there's really no need for reputation...

LOL I guess that's one way to look at it.
-
That's really weird, no idea what could make it drop precipitously.

me either..

Only thing I can guess is one or two people following your posts closely. As you have over 4K posts, any one person can generate an equal about of negative points. A script could do it.

Yeah, but other than you, I don't think anyone here has the expertise to write that kind of script, not to mention time or desire. It's almost like someone downvoted a post, it wiped out everything up to that point, and started over.

Thanks. It still blows my mind! No idea how that happened!

Only takes one person. A single thread with a few hundred posts in it would be trivial to generate a ton of down votes.
