What are you listening to? What would you recommend?

Jaws of Life which is a bit heavier. You may like this one better.

@ajstringham I listen mostly to mainstream rock/metal. I have a few obscure favorites (that's how we spell it in the USA, btw...) but I enjoy a lot of simple mainstream stuff.

Got it. 80s rock mostly I'm guessing?
-
Mostly 80's -90's, yeah.
-
@art_of_shred I didn't want to say 90s as that is an area of debate for many. I agree that the MAJORITY of the last good rock songs came out around then. Since then, finding good rock songs is more filtering through the crap to find the semi-precious stone...
-
It's funny that a lot of what we think of (at least those I have talked to) as 80's music was actually released in the early 90's. And, a good portion of the music that defines generation X was released in 1991 in particular. It's amazing how many pivotal albums were released that year.
-
@art_of_shred Sounds like you have a couple examples in mind. I'm very curious. Genuinely. Which ones you referring to?
-
1991 releases?
Metallica - Metallica (black album)
Nirvana - Nevermind
Pearl Jam - Ten
a bunch of others that escape me at the moment -
@art_of_shred Ok, yea, well said.
-
RHCP - Blood Sugar Sex Magic

@art_of_shred I think you'll appreciate this.

Lately at work, I've been putting on Pandora. Currently the band (and associated type of music) that I've been listening to is Tesla. Which has had a lot of Guns N' Roses, some Foreigner, Whitesnake, etc.
I have been doing exactly that for a year or so now. When I enter Tesla as the "station", it gives you such a great selection! Not to mention that Tesla is about the most under-rated band of the 80/90's.
Tesla and Queensryche... two of the most underrated, underappreciated bands from that era...
I've seen Tesla twice - both times when they opened for Def Leppard "In the round" waaaaay back in the 80's!

You're not that old!

In 2007 we went to see Judas Priest. It was our son's first concert (10yrs. old). Queensryche opened for them, and he was just sitting there with this sour look on his face going "Who are these guys? They suck!" I couldn't agree more. (Sorry, Bud.)

@art_of_shred
No worries. Everyone is entitled their own opinions. Operation: Mindcrime was the last good thing I heard from them and I hated the song Silent Lucidity. -
@Bud Oh, well that statement redeems you.
