Amazing how hard previously simple things in Windows have become. Sadly, I have no additional insight, with pre-deployment elsewhere it's extra hard.

Good luck. I didn't know that USMT was even still a thing used... Maybe some places disable / block it.

One Drive maybe? IDK.. If the vendor has the devices, profiles are difficult to move without the initial sign on. Now, I could be wrong on that... Maybe there is a way to do that without compromising the users password... because IT will never ask for your password. And if they do, it was a test,.. ONLY A TEST!...

It always has been. Now it's just obvious to everyone.

Always was, they just used to be able to claim that the alternatives didn't exist, even though they did. Now, the alternatives are too public and people are more aware that Windows isn't on par. But as someone who came from UNIX and discovered Windows later, Windows has never been good enough to justify, never been "good", never been anything but a joke. Just people re starting to wake up to it because MS isn't putting the resources into hiding it anymore.

Also, even the latest Windows 11 USMT from the ADK does not include favorites etc from any of the latest browsers. Not even Edge.

They aren't using the web browsers sync for all that? All web browser stuff should be synced. I wouldn't be able to function without it, using so many different OSs across many different devices. Favorites / bookmarks / etc shouldn't even need to be considered in migrations these days.

They don't even need to manually sign in to the browser for the sync to work depending on your config.

Same, I use FireFox and everything, everywhere "just works", it's so nice.

I’d definitely say that USMTGUI and User Profile Central (UPC) from Ehlertech is currently the most comprehensive User profile handling tools out there.

Ehlertech is maintaining USMT and updating on a regular basis.
Something Microsoft has not done for years.

UPCs advantage over USMTGUI is that UPC handles domain profiles remotely over LAN.
USMTGUI on the other hand is capable of migrating to AAD accounts.

If you have any custom xml files in your SCCM setup you can also integrate those with UPC
