USB sticks for bootable images - what do you use?
-
Have you found a specific brand that seems more reliable than another?
I need a few more memory sticks just for this purpose and I'd love to hear if you've had better successes with one vs another.
I recently found out that my Lenovo won't boot from a Sandisk 16 GB stick (Cruiser Glide or Cruiser Edge), but would boot from a Toshiba 8 GB or a Kingson DTSE9 16 GB stick.

I have a Kingston 32GB that I quite like.

I like Sandisk. Kingston makes good stuff. There are so many brands, it's hard to remember them all off the top of my head.
-
I'm thinking 8 GB is the sweet spot for bootable sticks - think of these as single purpose devices, like an old DVD.

Unfortunately, sandisk is what is not working for me.

8GB is a good size. You won't find too many bootable images that even approach that size. UBCD has the option to add custom ISOs to it though, so having a larger flash drive in that case makes sense.

Whatever is on sale.

They are all pretty much the same now. PNY is another good, standard brand.

They really are. Especially when speed doesn't matter and there are few writes.

I don't know about poor write speeds. Never had issues with them personally.

Don't care about poor write speed either if it is only going to be used for a bootable image. it will only be used read only after it is configured.
