Microsoft.Com new accounts limited to Outlook and Hotmail?
-
I tried to create a couple of new MS accounts this morning and can no longer use my own domain name for an account. Can only use outlook.com and hotmail.com
-
@jasgot You mean for personal use?
-
@dbeato Also I am not seeing this online
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/how-to-create-a-new-microsoft-account-a84675c3-3e9e-17cf-2911-3d56b15c0aafor just going to https://account.microsoft.com/account?lang=en-us and creating an account
-
This is a personal account; and triggered when starting MS Office H&B 2019 pre installed.
I ended up going to microsoft.com and creating the account, then coming back to Office and choosing Sign In instead of create account.
Very weird.

@jasgot Yeah, that is very weird.

I'm not surprised that the interface to create an account through Office 2019 H&B is limited to only using MS provided domains...
You did the right thing going directly to the website and making an account, then returning. -
On an unrelated note, I heard you can still get an @msn.com address is you sign up for MSN Premium

lol - people want that?

@dashrender apparently someone wanted it because @msn.com is a short domain name and addresses referencing recent culture are still available.
