HP EliteDesk 800 G5/G6 mini - error on windows update

  • This morning a client called telling me that several machines stopped responding during bootup (showing 1 of 4 updates remaining).

Upon hard powering them down, they then showed this screen:

Additionally - after the hard shutdown and clicking OK on the above screen - Windows did boot, and the user logged in. But after about 5 mins, they system hung completely, no mouse or keyboard access. Upon hard rebooting again, the HP error once again appeared, this time Esc was pressed to bypass the screen, Windows came back, and so far seems to be working OK.

This happened on at least 2 computers to the full extent listed above - and possibly 3.

Anyone else see anything like this?

  • @Dashrender I had it on a new 800 mini a few weeks ago. I clicked through it and it has been running fine since. Several reboots and it never happened again.

I just updated the OP. sadly, after rebooting, the system locked up, requiring another hard reboot, another flashing of this HP screen, hit esc to bypass and the user is back up and running.
