A quick google search for web db apps turned up Appgini https://bigprof.com/appgini/

Anyone used this? Or have something similar they can recommend?

What I don't want is to have to manually build a webpage by hand from PHP, etc to collect data then display the data in reports of my choosing.

at a quick glance it looks pretty basic, but very functional. If it meets your needs from what it offers, seems like it would work very well.

That looks really nice and is only $80 forever. or $80 one and then $0 per year for upgrades.

They have a free trial, but don't mention WTF the limit/differences are for the free trial.

This doens't look bad either. But those limits feel low. But I guess with no limit to the bases, you could get used to jsut replicating things yearly or something and get around that.

Yeah I've only used it for small stuff so I haven't went above the limitations.

One other plus to it is the native app. It works pretty well.

@Dashrender that's a costly offering. I bet, though, if someone really needed it, that they would do it. It just costs a lot.

I would say there is a never a case where you want to design something in house to store PHI. Unless, of course you are a software company that is willing to go through things like external code review, pen testing, HIPAA certification, etc. It is just a HUGE risk that could potentially put your upper management in a hot seat (or prison) if there is a breach.

Excel spreadsheet and web app are totally different. Web apps have so many more component and holes in them that you have to be worried about.

It kind of is. "At this time." Anyone who understands what it would cost will know to reach out. Anyone who thinks that they should reach out and find out what it will cost, won't be happy with the answer.

Excel has that code review, and depends 100% on Windows OS security.

I think IRJ is really referring to bespoke networked software. If you were making a notepad replacement that just highlighted certain phrases and only edited local text files that are already protected by the OS... I don't think that that is what he means.
