You could easily add a technologies proficiency area onto your resume.
Proficient with these tools:
(whatever software tools you use, Vi, SSH, Putty, Windows Server, Linux Server, Hyper-V) etc
-
Support Technician
Skills Used: Active Directory design and configuration, Windows Server 2016 - 2019 , Linux Servers (list distros here), backups , system support, workstations (Windows 10 and Windows 7 Migration), customer training, Networking configuration (Ubiquiti and Unifi), System updates (Windows and Linux)
-
Experienced in configuring and troubleshooting servers, workstations, printers, terminals, and POS systems
-
Managed and configured (not sure if you configured or not) VPN connections to remote sites
-
Responsible for customer training in various areas including best practices on workstations, servers, and system backups
-
Software Development experience with POS systems. I designed custom menus and GUI components to fit customer needs
Remember his job has no actual servers in it, no Linux, and no real developement. Entering data into a system to generate a menu hardly seems like a dev thing.

More like this
So he does system support
I am sure he has touched windows server before on the job
I am sure he has worked with backups, even if its just using a SaaS solution
Also if he is using VPN to connect to remote sights then he is managing the connection in a sense

Remember, he's 23. No one expects him to be like Tim Berners-Lee.

Not very likely - the sell windows 10 as a server solution (likely illegally)
I am sure he has worked with backups, even if its just using a SaaS solution
I suppose it's possible - but again, it would be inside of the POS app, not likely outside it
Also if he is using VPN to connect to remote sights then he is managing the connection in a sense
That's a stretch, and you know it
-
@WrCombs what remote connection tools do you use regularly?
-
@WrCombs I literally just asked Dash for this. Had no idea that there was a thread.

@WrCombs Didn't you spend the better part of a week troubleshooting a WiFi related printing issue?
I don't like that first real line there "Responsibilities Include; Remote System Administration,. . . ." it's a bit to wordy and is poorly grouped together.
Take a look at the example I posted.
