We just had our first delivery from FreshNation. You order produce online and a personal shopper goes to the farmers market and delivers the food to your house. It is really cool and worked really well.

And even with the delivery fee it was probably cheaper than the grocery store and far less effort.

Just wanted to share because it is a really cool service.

All the produce looks so fresh and yummy. I can't wait to try everything! I chose the fruit and vegetable variety box and we got about a pound each of cucumbers, heirloom cherry tomatoes, radishes, a huge bunch of lettuce, kale, cauliflower, eggplant, bell peppers, green beans, onions, peaches, apples, and yellow plums.

You bought a pound of kale? Either you're really deficient in iodine or you're just crazy...

Really? How is it cheaper? I haven't heard of anything similar in the UK. Here, farmers markets tend to be more expensive than supermarkets, even before the cost of the middle-man and delivery. But the quality is usually (but not always) better.

I used to get fruit and veg delivered by an online company called Abel and Cole who are pretty big here. They get their produce direct from the farmers and it's all organic. Good, but pricey.

Now I just get the supermarket to make a delivery every few days. I could never go back to pushing a trolley around a supermarket once a week and don't know why so many people still persist with it when online ordering is so cheap and convenient. I use a supermarket app on my phone and a weekly order takes about 5 minutes.

Dont get me wrong, it's not a life changing food on the buds, but it is pretty healthy, and you can dr. it up pretty well

I am lucky enough to have like 5 small farm stands within a mile of my house. And it's MUCH cheaper then going to the store.

It is very good. Often served in the caf at the office. It's considered a superfood.

                          I like it wilted

@Carnival-Boy farmers markets are often half the price of supermarkets here. And the delivery cost on this is only $5. So after the food is much cheaper and we don't have to drive anywhere to pick it up it is easily a few dollars cheaper on a week's order.

Plus it takes minutes imof our time instead if hours. In theory that is a savings too.

Those of you where the farmers market is cheaper - congrats! Farmers markets are definitely equal or more expensive than the grocery store here. I do have several stands within a few miles of my house.

It just means that the grocery store is overpriced.
