Traumatizing Muppets

Did anyone else find some of the Sesame Street Muppets from the classic days quite disturbing as a kid? I used to dread the "King of 8" sketch as this monstrosity would always appear at the end and then get crushed by a huge number 8...

Don't remember that one. But all puppets seem morbid to me.

One of my earliest memories was this sketch...the anticipation of that "green bean" looking "Jester" walking up and sticking his face in front of the screen like that and getting smashed was quite something...
I heard about some kind of Mark Twain Claymation that is very morbid...features Satan among all things...
