I know it is free service but still

        We pay for it.

I dont think there is any true alternative other than CDN

Nor is there anyone else with their uptime. One tiny outage is never a reason to panic. All services go down. CloudFlare less than most. What vendor would you trust to compete? Neither Amazon nor Microsoft have had the CF level of uptime.

My company has 40-50 sites on it... talk about putting all your eggs in one basket. But its amazing honestly if you exclude those 2 down times.

What two down times? There has been only one.

And all your eggs in one basket is what you WANT in most of IT. Because sites are not interchangeable commodities, so having multiple baskets would be extremely foolish.

He's referring to Verizon's screw up earlier this month.

I just read it, it only listed one. Two outages, but only one from CloudFlare.

"For the second time in two weeks, a huge chunk of the internet is inaccessible due to a sudden outage. Whereas last week’s outage was traced back to Verizon, this seems to be a Cloudflare issue, as the Cloudflare status page reveals that the company is investigating network performance issues impacting countless sites and services."

So out of two, one was Verizon, one was CloudFlare. Making this the first CF outage of which I'm aware.

We’ve used them for years and love them. The first outage wasn’t their fault, and the second didn’t last long. We do pay for them and it’s worth every penny. Their application firewall and DDOS prevention alone are worth it.
