@Skyetel Could Jared just call you and setup an account for his clients without this cell phone requirement?

      At this point? I refuse.

The ideal situation is to have the end user create their own account and have the IT team administer it. You don't have to share an account - you can create a new account for the IT Administrator and he can administer it directly without sharing credentials. (Thats what @scottalanmiller does)

There is no menu, that I can find, to create a sub account on my account to enable someone else to log in and administrate my account.

Shoot in a support ticket and they create them for you along with a temporary password.

        Part of this?

Tenants is being designed for use cases such as this and is under active development. It will also include a Tenant Portal where end users can view their assets (like phone numbers or call recordings or faxes) without being able to make changes or with different permissions from the Administrator.

Then I refuse. Because a tenant is absolutely not what is being discussed.

A tenant is a very specific thing and has nothing to do with additional administrators on an account.

At this point @Skyetel, I am back to your company being nothing but a waste of time.

You do not respect business in any way.

You are obviously not sorry. You have never once actually addressed my concern about using your service in a valid business context. You simply repeat your bullshit about fraud prevention.

My god dude move on. The level of bitching is just crazy. You've spoken your frustrations, so move on and don't worry about them anymore.

Get over yourself. I asked a simple question. They repeatedly have refused to answer it.

I’ve never once been upset or mad.

                      Disappointed is more like it.

@JaredBusch Once you stop requiring companies deliver more than they are capable of or willing to, you'll find you aren't so unhappy.

What you're doing is no different than getting mad because the six passenger car you fancy won't seat 7 people.

Why are you out to get Skyetel anyway? First you were pissed they don't publish their partner rates, now you're pissed they need a cell phone to satisfy the business model they are currently operating with. If you don't like the way they operate, choose another provider. You live in a capitalist society...... You have options. And if you don't, build your own option; call it Buschtel.

That's all fine and dandy.. but I can't sign my company up (I'm the IT Admin here) because I'm not giving you my personal cellphone for a company sign up.

Other systems have done setups that get through IVRs to internal extensions - that's what would be needed in my office.

Requiring SMS for business is seemingly absurd.

We don't require it as a means for contacting you - we never use it - its just for the signup process to verify you are a human and to prevent duplicate accounts. On the next step under "Organization Info" it will ask you for the contact information to use.

Why not a credit card like all the real businesses?

You claim to want the relationship.
Yet you refuse to make a way for me to sign up.
You must not really want the relationship.

No, but apparently you don't understand the entire thread. Because if you did, you would see why that is not a valid response.

We're not using it for 2FA - its just to verify the following:

Your in North America (Foreign cell phone numbers wont work)
You are actually a real human being (because you have to put it in)
You are not planning on committing fraud.

                                        DING DING DING

Given how much VOIP fraud and spam is happening, telco's need to be able to have something that traces back to a person the FBI can lock up.
This (combined with shaken+Stir being deployed) is critical to saving the PSTN.

Why not a credit card like all the real businesses?

Visa gift cards, and "cash cards" are common currency used by people who commit fraud. I've never been able to get a SIM without presenting my passport/ID.

This is precisely why we require the SMS verification.
