Audio book player

  • My Mother in Law is looking for a way to listen to audio books while travelling. We had and tried a few of the old phones we have but sadly - even the newest old phone isn't new enough to install the player (Audible).

Is there anything else I could use to play Audible books -mainly for someone to travels? I happened to think maybe the Raspberry Pi Zero, as it has wifi and bluetooth, it could be paired with the car, and played via the car's sound system.

    Anything thoughts?

  • Just use the device built for that, the Kindle.

I know you love Raspberry Pis, but they are always the most complicated solution. Nothing wrong with that, but this is a cheap and easy thing for something really nice.

Does the Kindle have BT? I know the three I have don't, and she doesn't have any other means to connect any type of audio device. Radio, CD, BT - all she has in the car.

yes, there are times and places for soemthing as 'serious' as the rPi... and maybe this isn't one of them. But I have one here, doing nothing,.. and thought maybe.

At least I'm not tring to do this in Windows...
