How well does webdav work on windows clients?

For windows 10 clients, does a native network share over webdav to a linux server work as well as smb to linux (samba)?
Way back there used to be a constant stream of webdav security issues. Are these solved today?

@Pete-S From everything I've read, the security concerns are not about the WebDAV protocol. Certain implementations of it did have issues, and how it's used can make a big difference.
Using it with a secured (HTTPS) connection to NextCloud should be fine. Even better if you have it behind a reverse proxy like so many of us here do.

We use this sometimes, and it works great.
I forgot to say, I use it with my Nextcloud install all the time. Works great when not at home, and no sync client to screw up file sync between all my devices.

Sometimes you can find slowness and some other issues with WebDav in Windows. If the WebDav Server is in Linux like NextCLoud it works well.

There is a big difference in how the speed feels between Windows 7 and Windows 10. Windows 7 had some bugs that made it dog slow at times.

Yes, but even SharePoint over WebDav in Windows 10 is clunky. I have only one customer working it that way.
