Can you see these details if you're connected directly to the server?

You can try and restart the management agents in this environment and see if that corrects the issue.

Other than these symptoms, any other issues? Such as with the VM's themselves? Can you reboot the VMs or are the vmx files corrupt?

About 640 days of uptime on the server, so that could be a reason.

              VMs were rebooted, no change.

Getting some performance issues, it seems, but very hard to tell.

Yeah, we are getting that rebooted in the coming days.

Is this the C# sharp client, didnt it get stopped and some features of it removed, especially if you update ESXi. And now you have to use the web version ?

What version of the Hypervisor are you using?

6.0. We are having them update as soon as they can.

Yes, they have an aversion to the web client 😞

I believe only in newer version 6.5/6.7 this is the case. Previous versions the client should just work.

I absolutely abhor the Flash web client. I use the HTML5 one when I can. Get them all the way to 6.7 so they can skip the flash web client.

As for the issue i've never seen this.

I would say reboot the host, but as some and not all VM's are like this i'm not sure. Not sure if you can check VMTools on the clients can/is talking to the host correctly? Not sure if you can maybe telnet to the ports the vm tools uses on client VM's??

that's what I'm wondering. We have a reboot coming, so we will see after that.

I like the host reboot idea as well. But I also wonder if maybe at some point after the last upgrade some of the VMs were upgraded to the latest VMware Tools but others were not. Maybe use this KB to check some VMs that show no stats and some that show stats correctly to confirm the version is what it should be - https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1003947. I thought the back end data from the screenshot above was populated by data from the hypervisor only and not from VMware Tools, but we shall see.

I'm going to say that there is a very high certainty of this. But I'm also sure that one of the ones not working was one fully updated. And ones that are working, are not.

I would have expected so, given the type of data that it is.
