As someone who's visited Dubai I think the "Retractable glass roof" part is a little much. Unless it's a safety feature, I mean if the a/c goes out it'll be an easy bake oven in 20 minutes.

I wonder if they will really be able to cool the open area between building during direct sun light? I suppose if they coat the glass in something that can reflect a huge percentage of the heat of the sun, ok. But having been in other building that have huge skylights, any area that gets direct sunlight is still 10's of degrees warmer than the shaded areas and not comfortable to be in for long periods of time.
All that said... I'm still looking forward to it. How much nicer would enclosed amusement parks be?

LEED glass blocks a LOT of heat. You can stand by one of those windows in Dallas in direct light and barely feel it. They also block cell signals.

@Dashrender Not 100%. It's like a super light tint. Doesn't look like regular glass but almost. You can tell if you know to look for it. But it's barely noticeable. Hurts your eyes less though. So you feel the difference even if you don't "see" it.

Do you know if LEED glass also blocks out ultraviolet? aka sun bleaching? -
