Time for change?

Well - I suppose it's time to fess up. A few might know this,.. but likely not many...
It is with sadness and regret that as of 03 August 2018 I will no longer work full time for NTG.
I started 06 April 2015, and in this short time have worked with some great people and learn a good bit. I like to think of myself as previously thinking and working outside the proverbial box, and while I still believe that, I have come to do more outside of that box - things I previously would not have had the chance or the skills to do so.
While curious moving to Linux - I was against it,.. pushed by the 'Corporate World' and the main stream system. But now three of the four systems I run are Linux only, the fourth being dual boot with Windows - mainly to play one or two games. I work easier in SSH and via command line on both OS platforms than previously.
While my official time is coming to a close, I am still making an effort to continue to work with the NTG family; @scottalanmiller, @Dominica, @pchiodo, and the rest of the great staff.

You still going to be in IT?
Either way, good luck on your next adventure!

Yes, I will still be in IT - because IT is where it's at.
-
Good luck buddy wherever you end up at!
-
With out change you cant grow, Happy for you, and I wish you luck moving forward!
You're staying on ML right?

I am actually looking at starting a furniture business with my Dad. Making custom furniture. We are starting it in my spare time and hopefully can move to it full time in about 10 years.
-
Good luck on your endeavors! Enjoy the ride.
-
Good luck! Sorry to see you go.

Best wishes

It wasn't an easy choice - I gained quite a bit coming to NTG. I won't fully realize what I am leaving for a while I would wager.

Are you a Linux sys admin in your new role?

Are you kidding me? I'm not even 20% of the famed @scottalanmiller level... so - no

You didn't really talk about your new job function and you mentioned Linux on your thread so I just made an assumption.
-
Best of luck in your future endeavors!

as this is a good bye for you so for me it is a welcome in this wonderful team. Very happy so far.

So I asked... and this is what I now do
Our company is a 911 Managed Services Provider. You will be installing & maintaining E911 systems at various sites across the state.
911, e911, text to 911.. all things I will be working with/on. There is some serious hardware that goes along with this type of system....

https://mangolassi.it/topic/17796/looking-for-senior-it-adminsThanks - that appears to require a relocation - which I am unable to do. Thus far - pretty happy with things,.. as I still get to visit ML, and work with NTG - though not officially on the payroll anymore. I still help @pchiodo, @scottalanmiller and all out when I can / they need.
