These stupid VPN errors. Works for months and then poof - not working any more.

Checked the Windows Ver, settings, and L2TP settings. I've tested it from my PC and it works, just their end. Check the TWC ubee modem also,.. no issues there that I could find.

Went as far as to use system restore to also roll it back to July 19 - that didn't work either.

Is this on a Surface? No idea how that hardware could cause these kinds of issues, but it always seems to.

Been looking over other software which could use used instead of the native Microsoft client,.. not really found anything to use as of yet.

Pretty sure this is a Dell Laptop - which was also checked for that goofy SmartByte program.

Oh, he has a Surface, from which he WAS able to connect to the VPN. So it's not a internet or office (server) issue. Just the damn laptop.

@gjacobse Are you connecting to a host name or IP?

Ran the Diagnostics logging and came back with this:

                    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms821096.aspx

                    Explanation:
                    RASGTWY.DLL is missing or corrupted.
                    User Action:
Either copy RASGTWY.DLL from your installation disks to the C:\WINNT\system32 directory or reinstall the Remote Access Service. Use the Network option in the Control Panel to remove and then reinstall the Remote Access Service.

Okay.. What/where i that. since RAS is not checked in Windows Features

Check the destination folder... C:\WINNT hasn't been used in... along time.
