MFP/Printers - what brand do you like?

We have HP here.
Over the years, the printer drivers have become worse especially when trying to print an envelope. Plus, they keep adding more plastic parts so more they tend to break faster.
I was thinking about switching to something else this next go around.
Hopefully (for me) they are using all their energy on their new copier line!
I'm just rooting for something that doesn't get paper jams once a week (that is after a cleaning and maintenance kit) with a decent printer driver and envelope printer.

Konica Copier/MFP has been great - not 100% jamless, but very infrequent. The same goes for our Lanier/Ricoh desktop MFPs.

I have had a couple Ricoh Aficio 5200s that have turned out to be really good. Initially, one was jamming all the time, but that was fixed by a tech who discovered that someone had broken the paper tray. I was also not able to scan to a Server 2012 share via SMB, but that was fixed by a firmware update that a tech had to perform. I thought that it was weird that I wasn't able to update the firmware myself, but that was less for me to do. We have had them for over 5 years and they only need occasional service with moderate to heavy use. They are on a service contract, so I never have to deal with them.
I just got the 501SPF for our warehouse shipping/receiving department who are heavy copy users. They kept going through the brother 8000 and 9000 series MFPs every 6 to 9 months. There is also a ton of dust in the warehouse, so that never helps longevity.
For the lighter use areas, like workgroup and individual offices, I have been deploying the HP M477fdn for color or M426fdn for monochrome. I have only had one issue with the M477fdn, and it was fixed by replacing the toner cart.

This seems to be the case with all of the MFPs - they basically require you to have a support agreement with someone who is on the inside with the particular manufacturer. It's very frustrating!

I will look into those. Some of our printers are long in the tooth and definitely need replacing.

We own all of our printers/MFPs. We are going to be able to replace them all with new gear (on lease) for less than what we pay today in managed print services/toner... current monthly bill is around $750, current bid from Kyocera is $575 for 1 Large MFP, and 7 desktop MFPs.

I am interested in leasing just based on the time-waster it is to support printers.

Is the $575 per month? Do they supply anything like toner?

They supply support, labor, parts and toner. We supply power and paper.

What does leasing have to do with that?
We own all of our printers (purchased outright) and have them all on maintenance agreements (pay x per click, get support, parts, labor, toner).
Other than other people not wanting to pickup the phone to call support, I don't have much to do with the printers. -

That would depend on your vendor. I have no idea of my vendors are nationwide or not.
I do know that JQ Office & Equipment is throughout at least the midwest, beyond that I don't know.

Well I don't have that requirement, so I don't know, didn't ask.
I have three locations, two in Omaha, one in Columbus, NE. My Columbus office is handled by someone else (namely the hospital we rent space from), leaving me only to worry about Omaha. The vendors I'm looking at support both of my locations. -

I was looking to see if they serviced my area.

Oh, yeah, again no clue.
Your best bet is to just start calling around for managed print services and see what you can find.

I just found out that NE is one of a few states that double screws us with property taxes on equipment purchased for the business.
Ia - nope, they just pay sales tax... but lucky us in Ne, we have to pay properties, just like on cars and buildings.

For small scale, the Epson EcoTank 2nd generation is flat out amazing. They got rid of the minor issues with the 1st gen models.
