Anyone played with third party IMAP email clients for Chomebooks? You can use GMail but I don't like it for third party email. Just found AquaMail and so far it seems pretty nice. A bit of a large install, but it works well from my early testing and I like how easy it is to set up.

To be honest I have not, I might try it later. The reviews are not that great:

I would just use the webmail, most applications like these store their email on their datacenters/service location for you and you just access the client side of it. CloudMagic used to be another option 3 years ago or so.

You can use Android Apps on Chrome like the Outlook App or use crouton
              https://github.com/dnschneid/crouton

You can try Inbox (Only for Gmail though)

Nope. Google says that a lot, but it's not generally available for ChromeOS. Android apps are blocked across the board unless specifically allowed for your specific hardware. Unless you know of some way of bypassing that Google lockout.

That's specifically what I'm avoiding because it isn't very good. AquaMail definitely blows that away.

It's not amazing, but it is designed natively as an IMAP client, which gives it an edge. It's not an add on feature.

Just found this thread. I love AquaMail. Been using it for years. It's worthy of mention!
