@jaredbusch What do you use for content filtering at your house?

      Parental oversight.

      Same here..

Agree 100 % However, I'd like to also protect my 7 year old on his ipad, from accidentally going somewhere he shouldnt. He only goes where we tell him he can, but I'd like that extra layer of protection.

Me? Yes. But no, that is not how I found out about it. That is courtesy of a user and the /nsfw directory.

@jaredbusch on, there is a SFW portion, now I get it.

                        Cool.

                          Cool.

And it is not as simple as a regex or something on /nsfw. Because you can click on an image to get to the images tagged as the image you click on.

For example this picture is on /animals
                          0_1522633640290_394284b0-53e8-46f8-a8e4-e0cdbe5a0267-image.png

But if I click that title, the URL changes to https://scrolller.com/r/tuckedinkitties

                          Which is nothing but
                          0_1522633725862_df5ffed6-46dd-446c-8c46-d8d64f604076-image.png

Now imagine trying to fight that in the /nsfw section..

I had Pi-Hole running for 10 minutes. It's amazing how much is being blocked already.

So, combining the Cloudflare DNS and the pi-hole filter is basically like having a firewall with content filtering?

If so, I just upgraded 2 of my Raspberry Pi's here at work. Might have a new project for home with one of the older R-Pis now.

CloudFlare DNS is just DNS, just like any other DNS. However, their focus is on privacy, and they claim that they will not keep or sell your browsing history. Also, from what the stats say, they are much faster than other big DNS servers like 8.8.8.8

Pi-Hole blocks ads/ad domains, but is also capable of blocking specific sites, or site lists.

I'm using a pihole VM (just set it up a couple of nights ago) pointed at CloudFlare. DNS is nice and snappy, that's for sure!

Yeah, you don't realize how much garbage you are downloading for every little thing until you use Pi-Hole.
