Airparrot open source alternatives

 Looking to see if there are any open source alternatives to this. It works well but it's a cost assessment issue at this point.

Stream from a laptop (windows or mac) to Chromecast or AppleTV connected to a TV for screen mirroring.

 I like and use Miracast a lot... great if your device supports it. The other end is basically an HDMI thumb drive that plugs in to your TV, powered by USB that also goes into your TV.
