I'm not saying that it is not "okay" for you to prefer being dead to needing any form of medication or assistance to live your life, that's your personal opinion and affects no one but yourself. But don't think that anyone else you've ever met or will meet in your life will agree with that. I'm sure some .001% of the population might think that, but it's only a theory, I've never interacted with anyone that feels that way before.
Normal people prefer being alive, even if sickly, over being dead. My dad has cancer and diabetes, trust me, he prefers being alive over the alternative, even with constant hospital visits, loads of medication, surgeries, studies, etc. Even having to carefully control his diet, not eating when he wants, needing help from family... still prefers life.
Oh, you can count me in that .001% - if it'm in horrible pain, currently I believe that I would rather be dead, than alive living through that pain - the quality of life is so bad, it's like living hell, at least that's what I've been told.
He didn't say horrible pain, he said needing medication and assistance. There is a point at which the pain or dementia is so bad that you want things to be over.
But you know what fights both pain and dementia... alcohol!

Every indicator? No, every indicator of being healthy means that you in fact have every good-health indicator... such as correct blood pressure, weight, blood sugar levels, etc etc...
Who cares about any of these factors if you get to live longer? These aren't actually health factors. These are proxy indicators. People with high blood pressure TEND to be less healthy. People with bad sugar levels TEND to be less healthy.
But people who drink alcohol TEND to be healthier.
Just as high blood pressure is an indicator of bad health, so is alcohol abstinence an indicator of bad health.

The only real study done, has shown that moderate to heavy drinking is shown to have a positive effect on how long you live, but has NOTHING to do with your health.
What? How is being alive unrelated to health?
There are lots of people who are alive, that are SUPER unhealthy, plain miserable, in pain, etc...
Right, and those people are STILL healthier than the dead!
Now you're just being silly.
No, I assure you, I am not. Silly is claiming that death is healthier than life. Which is the basis for your point.
I never said death is healthier than life.
I'm saying that living a miserable and unhealthy life sucks.
Sure, but do you want a shorter healthy life or a longer (as you call it) unhealthy life?
In any case, drinking alcohol has shown to provide a longer life, regardless of health being healthy or unhealthy.
I never said I want a short life. I want a long life, and to also be healthy from 70-100 years old. Not an unhealthy 70-100 age range.
OK.. great, then start drinking moderately, because studies have shown that you simply will LIVE LONGER if you drink. it doesn't say you will be healthy or unhealthy using your listed metrics.. only that you LIVE LONGER.

You really did. It was the basis for your theory that living longer was unrelated to health.
So being 110 years old, over weight, high blood pressure, high/low blood sugar, in constant pain, miserable/unhappy... all that has nothing to do with health if you are alive?
Who said that it has NOTHING to do with health? No one. Just because being alive is the most important factor in healthy, doesn't imply that if you are alive you are healthy, that's not logical and in no way related to anything anyone has said.
Why would you even state something so silly? You are acting like it has to be all or nothing. It's simply that nothing is less healthy than death - which should be common sense and go without saying. But you are claiming over and over that death is healthier than many situations of being alive.

really? give me a short list please.
Also, what are the chances that those risks will kill you before natural causes do, according to the listed study that shows that people who drink live longer.
Let's assume the average longer life of a moderate drinker is 5 years.. what are the chances that those risks will kill you more than 5 years earlier than if you didn't drink? Because if they kill you the same as the non drinkers, then there is no gain or loss.. but if you get even one more day than the average non drinker.. most would say it's a win.
Of course - there are aliments (like extreme pain) that make life not worth living.. but you don't appear to be talking about that level of unhealthy, your listed unhealthiness is "needs help, needs pills, pain" etc... well tons of people have those at all stages of life.. and they don't want to be dead instead of alive, so again, longer life is seeming like the main goal here, outside of the aliments that make you want to die.

You can have illness without being dead.
But being dead isn't healthy, even if it solves that illness.
You might have HIV, and dying might cure you of HIV, but that doesn't mean that being dead means that you are healthy.
