Looking for replacement to Hangouts On Air
-
For my D&D Campaign, I used Google Hangouts, specifically the Hangout On Air functionality.
But Google killed it a couple years ago.
I have been limping along with YouTube Live Events, but meh, it still launches a fucking hangout on air window. WTF Google...
So I want a new solution.
Zoom would be great but the 40 minute cutoff does not work for a 4 hours D&D session.
Anyone else have a good recommendation for a free home use service that has session recording? Screenshare would be great, but I like to share my Roll20 screen so when I do go look back at a video to find something I forgot, I see the screen too.
-
@jaredbusch Sorry. We just use Discord and Roll 20 Discord just because some of our players have audio issues in Roll20 and I got tired of helping them with it.
-
Have you tried something like Mixer in conjunction with Roll20 and Discord? I'm pretty sure it will do free screen recording.
-
So you need screen sharing, group chat and recording capabilities.
Doesn't Skype do this for free?

Have you tried Jitsi Meet?

Also can stream to Youtube. Everythings open source, download and run your own server. Has desktops clients as well.

It'd take a few minutes to setup, but Spreed.me would probably work well.
https://github.com/strukturag/spreed-webrtcIt also has a NextCloud tie in.
